About

Founded in 2003 by Rich Wartel, Two Labs Marketing originated with the intention to redesign the approach to trade consulting. The new system takes advantage of our team's diverse career backgrounds from the business world along with extensive pharmaceutical expertise to outline a step-by-step process for clients' trade and marketing needs. In essence, Two Labs set out to create its systematic approach that gives clients access to the product launch process.

Rich Wartel

In 2003, Rich Wartel began Two Labs Marketing to provide pharmaceutical and biotech companies with a detailed and systematic approach to launching new products and handling trade, sales, and marketing development. Rich has lead new product launches from strategic development to implementation for more than 60 products. His clientele includes top 10 pharmaceutical companies, biotech companies, and emerging pharmaceutical companies with initial sales ranging from $10 million to $350 million. In addition, Rich has been a strategic partner to more than 60 product managers to develop their annual marketing service plans to detail physicians, pharmacies, payers, and patients.

Previously, Rich served as Vice President of Business Development for Cardinal Health Distribution. During his six years at Cardinal Health, his group was responsible for product manager marketing to both branded and generic pharmaceutical manufacturers for launches. In addition, he was responsible for developing manufacturer based marketing programs through external alliances (PBMs, marketing services companies, etc.) and with 12 other Cardinal Health companies. Prior to his role at Cardinal Health Distribution, at just 24 years of age, Rich and his business partners were the first to develop and commercialize the concept of a Home Healthcare Superstore under the banner of American Health Superstore (sold in 1997).

With a Bachelors in Business from Skidmore College and his Masters in Accounting from George Mason University, Rich's expertise is focused on efficiency – in the process details as well as the financial details.

William T. Pih, Pharm. D.

Will Pih, Pharm. D. has been a consultant with Two Labs Marketing since 2004, managing many of the west coast and pacific-rim clients. His key area of focus is in specialty distribution and specialty pharmacy. During these last several years of emerging fee-for-service agreements, Will has been actively involved in determining fair market value in a variety of channel services for clients. In the strategic product launch process, Will directs Two Labs' outsourced contract trade activities and manages his team of trade account managers.

Prior to Two Labs, Will held various positions of responsibility and leadership within the sales and marketing organizations of both small and large pharmaceutical and biotech companies, such as Roche Laboratories, Women First HealthCare, and Amgen, Inc.

Carsten Bischoff

Carsten Bischoff joined Two Labs Marketing in 2007 to consult in the contract trade relations division, specializing in new product launches and providing trade relations support to new and emerging companies. His previous experience brought several diverse skills and a wealth of knowledge to the team.

Most notably, in 1995 Carsten and colleague John Gaffney formed Bischoff & Gaffney Associates to provide services customized to the distribution needs of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Three of the new product launches they supported received the DIANA Award from the National Wholesale Druggists' Association (NWDA) as the best new product launches of the year. In 2002, Carsten and business partner David Janca formed ValueCentric, a data services company to analyze and report inventory and sales information to manufacturers, while including fee-for-services monitoring. He also worked with Nonstop Solutions as a pharmaceutical industry consultant for two years.

Prior to consulting, Carsten worked at Hoffmann-LaRoche for more than 30 years, performing several positions from sales and marketing information system analyst to finance and director of trade relations and business development. He was instrumental in the development of a distribution network to provide the fastest pharmaceutical product introduction in industry history, thereby setting a new standard.

Carsten has recently served as the Chairman of the NWDA Innovation for Success Committee and was responsible for instituting major changes to the awards process. He has also served on the Business Development Committee and was a member of the National Wholesale Druggists' Association's Pharmaceutical Marketing.

Howard Miller

Howard has 25 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry. His career began as an Associate Brand Manager for Coca-Cola. After a couple of years he moved into the pharmaceutical industry and has been there ever since. While he started as a sales representative for Sandoz, Howard spent the majority of his career with Abbott Laboratories. Over the course of 17 years he worked predominantly in sales and marketing assignments. Those roles included being a Sales Representative, Regional Trainer and District Manager. He then moved into the home office in a marketing role as a Product Manager for Isomil, Alimentum and Abbott's Metabolic product line.

This product group represented sales of over half a billion dollars. Following this Howard was promoted to Regional Director for the Western US and Far East markets. He was then recruited by Cardinal Health to be Vice President of Sales and Marketing for four of their information companies and ultimately helped spin out an information joint venture with Wal Mart, CVS and approximately 25 additional pharmacy retailers. Following the sale of that venture he joined Novavax as their Vice President of Sales and Managed Markets before becoming the head of operations for Two Labs.

Jennifer Moran

Jennifer Moran joined Two Labs Marketing in December of 2006, bringing with her an abundance of previous experience in sales and marketing. An account manager for Two Labs, she directly works with clients, helping to facilitate a seamless process for all parties. Jennifer also specializes in handling third party logistics and licensing.

Her most recent experience comes from working at Tiffany & Company in their fine jewelry sales department, where she was awarded employee of the quarter in 2005 for consistently exceeding the outlined sales plan. She also worked with alumni at the Harvard College Fund to successfully raise funds for undergraduate scholarships and professorships. There, Jennifer single-handedly managed a variety of marketing programs to drive financial contributions and awareness. A Program Event Coordinator for Premier Yachts, she executed several highly praised entertainment and charitable events. Her position afforded her with the opportunity to work closely with the sales and marketing teams to accomplish important company objectives.

Jennifer received a bachelor's degree in Business from Miami University of Ohio in 2000, where she majored in marketing.

Angie Hoyt

Angie Hoyt is the newest member of the Two Labs Marketing team. Her background in trade sales proves beneficial for her role as an account manager and her keen understanding of client project needs.

Angie's previous sales experience includes working in Amylin's trade department for four years. There she managed all aspects of trade, including introducing two new products into the diabetes marketplace, negotiating fee for service agreements, and managing inventory levels within the supply channel. While employed at Novavax, Angie actively worked in trade sales and managed care. She also held multiple positions ranging from inside sales to client service manager during her eight years at Cardinal Health.

Angie received a bachelors in Business from Franklin University in 2001, where she majored in Business Administration.

Heather Goodman

Heather Goodman is a former Vice President of Generic Purchasing at Cardinal Health, where she managed the generic formulary and 100+ generic manufacturer relationships, as well as Vice President of Corporate Compliance where she worked on supply chain safety.

She began her career as an associate in a large Ohio law firm where she specialized in health care law. She then became Senior Corporate Counsel for Customer and Vendor Relations in Cardinal’s legal department. Five years later, she moved into a business role heading up Cardinal’s generic product managers where she negotiated Generic Wholesale Supply Agreements and many other financial agreements with generic manufacturers including new item additions and deals on blockbuster generic launches. Her specialized skill set includes trade marketing access and influence, new vendor set-up, state licensing, negotiating supply agreements, legal and regulatory guidance, and bidding strategies. She also provides training to senior level management regarding lifecycle management, generic industry updates, and other client-specific topics.

David Ward

Information and technology expert for Two Labs Marketing, David Ward manages many aspects of internal Two Labs Marketing technology. His expertise helps Two Labs create software and other online tools, including the customer access migration and development of the Sales Force Optimization project, to better serve clients' needs. He also works on the new vendor setup for new product launches.

David graduated from Ohio State in 2005 with a double major in Communications and Political Science.

Lisa McKeegan

Lisa joins the Two Labs Marketing team with strong experience in marketing and advertising for a wide range of industries and clients. Lisa works directly with clients and vendors to develop, manage, implement and track an assortment of product and patient marketing programs.

For the past five years, Lisa has managed advertising accounts for clients of all shapes and sizes. Industries included pharmaceutical and trade marketing, hospital and outpatient healthcare, textbook publishing, personal dentistry, non-profit organizations and more. Projects ranged from sales and marketing collateral development and event management to web and interactive implementation, as well as market research and new business development. Lisa first worked with Two Labs Marketing in this capacity, helping to develop the brand's identity as well as implement trade marketing programs for Johnson & Johnson.

Lisa also spent several years with the Rx Marketing department of Cardinal Health, working with the brand and generic teams to develop sales collateral for marketing programs, facilitate the team's involvement in trade shows and events, and design and distribute a multitude of marketing materials.

Lisa earned a bachelor's degree from the Fisher College of Business at the Ohio State University, specializing in marketing and transportation/logistics. Additionally, Lisa received a degree in Graphic Design from the Art Institute of California, San Diego.

Alisha Nielsen

Alisha Nielsen joined Two Labs in November 2009 with more than 18 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical industry several different market segments. Her career began in a high volume retail pharmacy chain. While continuing her work with the pharmacy, she Joined First DataBank's Editorial Services Department where the fascination for data utilization began. This knowledge and understanding has been instrumental in the successful implementation of her Launch and Lifecycle Management Strategies today.

Alisha spent more than 13 years working with First DataBank, including the duration of the MediSpan database acquisition. Serving as Senior Research Associate and ultimately the Manager of Editorial Services, the bulk of her Compendia career was spent in the Editorial Services Department whereby she acquired both Brand and Generic product launch information. She attended daily meetings that Focused on new Branded Product classifications which resulted in the creation of new GCNSEQNO's and/or GPI codes. She was also responsible for creating both the Editorial and Clinical Highlights weekly announcements that are still being distributed today.

Prior to Alisha's career in consulting, she served as Senior Manager of the US Specialty Division at Valeant Pharmaceuticals. She called on top Retail Chains to service both the Brand and Generic segments of the business. Faced with many products in the late stages of their lifecycle and branded flagship products facing generic competition. Alisha developed a strategic plan that included the launch of five branded and four generic products. Her most recent launch was in November of 2009.
